Lyrics

Everybody has a time when they need to take a break
Not because they failed and it isn’t a mistake
You know what it is like when you’re doing way too much
You gotta a time out to stay in touch

This should come as no surprise - The clock will never compromise
Don’t hesitate to make a date
With a different voice; it’s a simple choice

Everybody has a time when they need to be alone
In the office, in the church, even in the home
This is coming from a man who has to do it every day
Even Jesus had to go into the garden just to pray

This should come as no surprise - Silence will not compromise
Don’t hesitate to make a date
With your inner voice; it’s a simple choice

Everybody has a time when they’re driven to their knees
When there’s nowhere else to go and there’s no one else to please
You tell yourself you’re strong enough to make it on your own
But the storm will come again and you’ll sink just like a stone

This should come as no surprise - The soul will never compromise
Don’t hesitate to make a date
With a Holy voice; it’s the only choice

Everybody has a time when they need to take a break
You gotta be at peace if you want to stay awake
Take a hike up in the hills or a boat out on a lake
The living you will do is worth the hours that you take
Put some shrimp upon the grill and eat ’em with a steak
Dig into the middle of a coconut cake
Wash it down with a chocolate shake
Never mind the toothache
Just take a break
For goodness sake…
